Coming into the 2060 season, the Robins were projected to be the worst of the worst yet again, with hopes of getting somewhere around 60 wins to at least take a small step back to respectability. After a terrible June, it looked like the Robins would settle into the role that they have known so well for the last decade and change. But then a funny thing happened. The Robins have clinched back to back winning months, and have suddenly shot back into the fringes of the playoff hunt as we approach September at 7 games back of New Orleans in the last Johnson League playoff spot. Be honest, if you had the Robins already at 65 wins at this point you are a gigantic liar.
No matter what happens in September, the Robins are the team with the least to lose in the playoff chase. Nobody expected them to be here. Heck, the Robins Chief Baseball Officer indicated that getting around 60 wins would be a success. Yes, the defense is terrible and the pitching staff is some high priced bullpen free agents, one trade deadline deal that wasn't too crazy, and a bunch of Rule 5 guys. But the controversial Cano trade turned out fine. Cano's presence in the lineup has meant that the Robins are getting more pitches to hit, and guys like Cookie Monster, Morales Jr., and Wilson Prieto have rebounded nicely given that they have more protection in the lineup. All the Robins have to do is keep on doing what they have been doing late on in this summer and see where it takes them. No matter what happens, the Robins are the team who has zero expectations to make the playoffs.

I think that Cano ended up being at the very least a defensible move from me.
