Finally good news for the fans of Baltimore. The Monarchs were hoping their recent moves would turn into a winning August and it has come true. The Monarchs went 16-12 in August and are showing that they are starting to turn the corner in the MBBA. Behind hot hitting rookie Daniel Labrie the Monarchs have hit their way into a winning August. The Monarchs hit .311 with 38 HR in August which led Baltimore to a winning record. The pitching for the Monarchs has been suspect as usual but was good enough for such a hot hitting team.
Hitter of the Month
RF Mike Clarke
Clarke tore it up in August hitting .413 with 5 HR's and 22 RBI in August. His nickname of OBP Jesus also rang true as he had a .488 OBP in August. Clarke led the team hitting in the 3 spot driving in the runs and knocking it out of the park when needed. Clarke is hitting .352 for the season and is one of the best hitters Baltimore has to offer.
Pitcher of the Month
SP Larry Lasalle
Lasalle does it again! The 3 time pitcher of the month wins again as he continues to lead the Monarch pitching staff. Lasalle is the king of the staff as he went 3-0 with a 2.61 ERA in August. He continues to dominate the opposition and if the Monarchs can find a couple more SP close to him they are certain to be a contender.
Surprise of the Month
LF Daniel Labrie
As the Monarchs drafted Labrie a few months ago they were hoping for some early success out of him. However they could not of expected the amount of success he has brought to the Monarchs so far. He is currently hitting .353 with a .453 OBP and is tearing up opposing pitching. He has been a solid force in the leadoff spot for the Monarchs. He looks to be a future star for the Monarchs and exactly what they were hoping for at the beginning of the 1995 draft.
The Monarchs are out of the playoff chase for 1995 but look to build on August's results by bringing home a strong finish to the season. The Monarchs hope to turn a strong finish into a good start to the 1996 season.

Labrie is killing it.
He is hitting .403 with a .515 OBP since 8/11. I think I got a division winning lineup. However I only got a couple pitchers worth a damn. Fortunately I got the money to go get a couple in the offseason.
