For an entire decade, the most reliable and consistent pitcher in the Monty Brewster Baseball Association was a member of the Brooklyn Robins franchise (the known as the Baltimore Monarchs). Mark 'Bobo' Bobovnik was money in the bank.
In the 1980s, Bobovnik won 178 games and he finished his career with 210 wins and a 2.70 ERA. By Hall of Fame standards, in which he was enshrined in 1996, his career was short at only 13 seasons. But he didn't make the majors until he was 26 and after a rough first season in 1980, he dominated the rest of the decade, posting season totals that included 24, 22 and 21 wins. He was a three-time winner of the Steve Nebraska Golden Arm Award.
"Pitching for this franchise has always been one of the things I treasure most in my life," said Bobovnik as he became the second player inducted into the Robins Hall of Legends. "It means so much to me to see No. 91 on that wall and it's an honor that no one else will ever wear it. I was just a farm boy from Kansas who lived out his dream."
To further honor Bobovnik, the Robins announced they have instituted the Mark Bobovnik Pitcher of the Year Award. The inaugural recipient is Salvador Barron, who went 14-9 for the Robins last season, with a team-leading 5.1 WAR.

Yeah, Bobo was the first post-Nebraska stud. Key to Baltimore's run during that time period.

I have researched many of the hitters before my time, but not too many of the pitchers. Guess I need to do that.
