Monarchs go on Playoff Roll
Note- I was pretty nervous opening the sim email today. Exciting to see the good news!
Looking for success in the MBWBA? Well sometimes you just have to wait your turn. With arguably one of the weakest Monarchs teams in recent years the team caught fire in the postseason elimination Omaha and Chicago on their way to a Landis Memorial Series appearance against the powerful Seattle Storm. Despite being outscored 31-24 over the seven games the M’s managed to score timely runs and squeak out a pair of 2-1 wins in Games 6 and 7 for the championship. A couple late season trades, some players peaking at the right times, and a little luck and look what can happen.
It’s been a long time coming for a Baltimore franchise that has including 2013 has made 15 playoff appearances since 1997 (17 seasons). GM Nick Verhoeven has personally watched over the past 13 seasons and 12 playoff appearances and has finally won the championship.
Martin Huigens and James Endres were huge in the finals. Lesser known’s Duane Burgess and Antoine Haddad were probably the key as Seattle went with two lefties in the rotation to combat my lefty heavy lineup.
Can’t say for sure what the offseason will bring. If we had lost I would have reloaded where I could and tried again. Now that that I know the result it might be time to take a step back. 13 seasons is a long time for a GM and it might be time for fresh blood in Baltimore. I did kind of like this winning thing so it maybe its not.

Going out on top is so cliché. Besides, you have the longest consecutive playoff run to consider.
