For the third month running Brooklyn won 14 of their games but once more showed their inconsistency by losing 13 games as well. Their three month record is now 14-13, 14-14, 14-13 leaving them just two games over .500 and five games adrift of leaders Halifax. The month saw the Robins take three out of four at home to pennant rivals Halifax which at least kept them in sight but a 2-2 split in Louisville helped the Sluggers sneak ahead in the standings. Robins finished out June though on a high after taking two out of three from the Barnstormers in Omaha. In close games Brooklyn improved winning five out of nine one-run games while they also scored 10 or more runs four times in the month, three of them against Halifax.
Victor Talboom and Albert Shoemaker led the team in homers during the month with seven each with Shoemaker driving in a team leading 22 RBI as well. Talboom managed 17 RBI and a .292/.351/.618 triple slash line, good but trailing in behind Brian Whitten who hit .330 for June. Both Whitten and Orlando Medrano both managed 31 hits in the month while Medrano also crossed the plate 20 times to score. The Robins run on sight policy was a bit hit or miss, Shoemaker was 50% successful on his 10 attempts but Medrano only succeeded once in four attempts. Bob Brandon and Davis Locke both managed six steals though and Talboom had a 100% record, a perfect three from three. The two catchers on the roster both proved they couldn't hit a lick as Benjamin O'Rorke managed just .176 in his 22 starts and young Sam Adams trailed in with .167 from his nine outings.
Mario Mendez notched the teams only shutout in June when he blanked the Sluggers 11-0 in Louisville. That was his only win though in five June starts as he posted a 1-2 record despite only giving up 11 runs in his 37 innings pitched, the month's star on the mound though was Salvador Barron who recorded five wins from six starts. Fortunes reversed for two of the rotation as early season darling Fernando Moran went 1-4 while slow starter Joey Budding continued his recent recovery by posting a 3-2 June record. Jose Castro posted one win and five saves in his 10 outings but recorded a worrying 6.75 ERA as the bullpen continued to underwhelm. In 14 trips to the mound Silas Thompson posted a 6.60 ERA but was only tagged with one loss while Mark Totten remained the most reliable posting a 2.89 ERA in 11 outings.

I was always so impressed with what you've done with these guys. I'm excited to see how you kick it up a notch. Someone should be able to break off from the pack in this division.
