Player Awards
2011 Baltimore Monarch Player Awards

Offensive Award:

The best in 2011 and sentimental choice is Daniel Labrie. The 38 year old veteran posted a .322/.415/.475 line over 615 AB’s and was the most consistent Monarch this year. He also got his 3000th career hit this year. Numbers like this for Labrie aren’t a huge surprise but at his age it is a welcome addition to the club.

Pitching Award:

I’m going to have to go this to David Lewis who had the best season of anyone who didn’t end the season on the DL. The 29 year old former first round draft pick has developed into a solid big league starter and was consistent in 2011 going 13-10 with a 4.49 ERA.

Rookie Award:

We didn’t really have any good rookies this year…

Minor Leaguer:

Prospect Kevin Nelson went 15-2 with a 1.94 ERA at A ball before getting promoted to AA at the end of the year. He will probably start 2012 in AAA and could push for a major league spot in September next season.
