When he was drafted first overall in 2059, Jose Torres instantly became the most hyped pitching prospect in a long time. Teams called Brooklyn looking to acquire him, and what the team was offered for him would stun you. But the Robins held firm knowing that he would be ready to don a Robins uniform. Well, it turns out that 2061 is his time. After dominating AAA out in San Antonio, the Robins released a statement indicating that Jose Torres would begin 2061 at the major league level.
Robins Chief Baseball Officer Ben Heuring met the media at the Robins media complex with Torres, and it was clear from the press conference that the Robins brass was ready to make the move. "We are very excited about having Jose join the major league team, and feel that he is ready. His numbers in AAA indicated that he could handle the step up in competition against older players, and our offseason was planned around making sure that everyone was good enough. We got a catcher in to help Torres along, tried to improve the defense in the infield given Jose's pitching style, upgraded the bullpen to help with his stamina, and tried to keep the offense level around the same so that he will have run support."

To be fair, I do have plans for a pitch count on him, and am prepared to shuffle him to the bullpen if needed.

He dominated AAA and averaged 6 and 2/3 innings per start. Maybe the IP/start shrinks or his stats take a little hit against BBA hitters. But I think he's probably more valuable as a starter. And this comes from a guy who puts a lot of starters in the bullpen.

I would for sure have him as a starter. If Molina wasn't injury prone, he would probably be a starter, too. I realize there's also the debate that being a stopper is just as taxing on his arm, but I'm better able to manage his innings.
