One name that Robins fans can expect to see a lot at spring training next winter is going to be Nick White. The 24 year old has been with the organization since 2046, and this year had a ton of success at AA Memphis. With a batting average over .300, and the power numbers looking very good, it was time to move White up to AAA San Francisco. In the later chunk of the season, White managed to hit close to .300, and has the look of a player who is starting to put everything together and he should get his chance to reach the big leagues.
But what makes White an interesting story is that he was drafted in the 11th round. While I'm sure that other guys have gotten to either the BBA or one of the foreign leagues since the modern era began in the 90s, it is amazing to see a player who hasn't been viewed as a "prospect" get a chance and be in the conversation of a BBA roster without it being too farfetched. Congrats, Nick. You've earned it.
