My picks:
NL East: Braves. I'll cover why not the Phillies in a second, but Uggla adds the pop that the Braves needed. Jurrjens, Hanson, Lowe, Hudson may actually be 2nd behind the Phillies Phoursome. If Chipper stays healthy and productive, this will be a good year. And they are a very young team with Heyward in RF and Freeman getting his shot at 1B.
NL Central: Reds. If the Cards leave Pujols unsigned, they will have a curse on them that will make the Cubs' and Red Sox versions look like boo-boos. Looking forward to seeing Aroldis Chapman.
NL West: Giants. Some people are propping the Rockies...I don't buy it. Even though I still can't believe the Giants are the defending champs, Lincecum, Cain, Sanchez, Bumgarner, and Zito is a daunting rotation.
NL WC: Phillies. Ok, the Phillies have at least close to the best rotation ever. But losing Werth and being without Utley is going to hurt them bad. Their offense is just old (Ibanez is 39!!) and their bullpen had 4 players that VASTLY overachieved last year. They also won a ridiculous (i.e., karma offending) number of one-run games in 2010. The Braves tried superior pitching with subpar, aging offense a few years ago...doesn't work.
AL East: Red Sox. I could say positive things about the Sox here, but just look at how the Yankees fumbled this postseason and the Rays were pretty much (and predictably) gutted outside of Longoria and Price.
AL Central: Ugh. This is an ugly division. I guess the Twins.
AL West: A's. Guess who has the deepest pitching (rotation and bullpen) in MLB? Not the Phillies, Braves, or Giants.
AL WC: Yankees.
World Series: Red Sox in 5 over the Braves.
