Custom Ammys, 2017

Post by recte44 » Thu Aug 14, 2014 9:48 am

Create your own Custom Players!

You get 1 PP for each Custom Ammy you create. Commish looks at them and will turn them into the closest existing ammy creation. Commish reserves the right to nix any entry for any reason.

Limit of 2 per GM per season.

As of 2017, the Custom Ammys will ALL be created as High School players, and they will evolve from there.

Name: Tu Mutch
Bats: L
Throws: R
Hometown: Tokyo, Japan
Position: SS
Ethnicity: Japanese
Bio: Mutch is a hardworking, down to basics ball player. He's gotten the admiration of his former coaches and scouts over his understanding of how the game works. He'll do whatever it takes to win. He can hit, drop a down a bunt, and run well. He's a 4-tool player, lacking only a powerful bat to hit homeruns.

But in all honesty, he is this...

Name: Grasis Gonn
Bats: R
Throws: R
Hometown: Kathmandu, Nepal
Position: RF
Ethnicity: Asian
Bio: Grasis Gonn has caught the eyes of many scouts for a variety of reasons. For one, no one knows much about him. He's very quiet and doesn't speak much of his past. He arrived in the United States at some point and no one knows really when. It's believed he came to the U.S. after a tragic death in the family that led him to drinking at an early age. Authorities actually removed Gonn at the age of 12 from a bar when it was realized he actually wasn't of age. It is believed he emerged from from somewhere in Asia, Nepal perhaps. If so, there's a solid chance he is looking to become the first person to play in the MBWBA from Nepal. He's a beast of a human being, herculean strong who has launched homeruns since his mid youth playing days. High School coaches drooled over his powerful bat and strong arm the outfield. Some thought he should be a pitcher thanks to his strong arm, but many said wasting his hitting skills would be an injustice to the game. Will Gonn ever turn his ability into a productive big league player? I guess we'll have to see.

Really, he is this song...

After your comment, I wish I had changed his bio to an overweight, drunk.... Since the lyrics go "eat too much, drink too much, want to much..."

Name: S.D. 'Snake" Plisskin
Bats: Right
Throws: Right
Hometown: Los Angeles, CA
Position: Pitcher
Ethnicity: American
Bio: Grew up in New York but moved to Los Angeles when his dad left the military to work in private security. Known for having a VERY nasty attitude, it was rumored that he threw at his girlfriends head during a co-ed softball tourney because she was crowding the plate. Fearless and mean, the name Al 'The Mad Hungarian" Hrabosky comes to mind when he is on the mound. He is famous for a large cobra tattoo on his abdomen.

Bit of a clown that keeps the team loose during a big game.

Name: Don Eppes
Bats: L
Throws: L
Hometown: Los Angeles, CA
Position: 2B/SS (Utility Infielder)
Ethnicity: American
Bio: Don Eppes, brother of Charles 'The Professor' Eppes, started playing baseball at a young age when his parents signed him up for Little League as a way to get him to give up playing cops and robbers. By age 11, he needs someone other than his dad to throw batting practice for him. He goes to college on a baseball scholarship and joins the Single A 'Stockton Rangers' after graduation. After a few seasons with Stockton, Don finds his first love calling him and joins the FBI. He has a successful FBI career, becoming a Special Agent in Charge in the LA office, but always wonders what-if... One day, Don suddenly retires from the FBI to pick up his baseball career again. Don plays strong defense and as an above-average bat.

Name: Charles 'The Professor' Eppes
Bats: Switch
Throws: L
Hometown: Los Angeles, cA
Position: SP
Ethnicity: American
Bio: Younger brother of Don Eppes. Charles has always been exceptional. He started high school at age 10 and was an exceptional student throughout his academic career. His passion and aptitude for math granted him noteriety in his field at a young age. He decided to use his abilities to assist his brother in his FBI career, and the two have a sparkling arrest record. Charles has always had an interest in baseball due to his brother's career. He could predict what Don's season batting average would be just by analyzing his batting stance. After Don retired from the FBI to pursue his baseball career, Charles, possibly motivated by sibling rivalry, decided to use his knowledge of physics and geometry to become a pitcher. Not the strongest armed, but uses strong movement and control combined with a large repertoire of pitches to be an effective starter.

Im sure it is fine... It is more about creating unique names to give us more of an interest in the players. Over the last 10 seasons or so, all of my creations have had Dave Matthews Band connections. Most over the last few seasons are song titles that I've created into names.

To me, having the ability to draft Crash N. Thome or Tu Mutch creates more of interest than another Juan Garcia (who by the way there are 4 of in the MBWBA) and all of the other Garcia's throughout the league.

Name: Peter "Star Lord" Quill
Bats: Both
Throws: Right
Hometown: Pinetown, NC
Position: SS
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Bio: Born under unusual circumstances, Peter lost his parents at an early age and had to make it on his own. His nickname was given to him by his mother who said that his father "shined like the stars." Initially introverted, he has learned the people skills necessary to be an excellent leader and a clubhouse force. During high school, he had to choose whether to continue to pursue baseball as a career or to go to college and pursue the space program. He has decided that baseball will be his future, and any team that signs him will be the better for it. His high intelligence has contributed to his game, making him an excellent fielder, even though he is not the quickest or fastest player on the field, having only average wheels. His strength is in his excellent eye and power which make him strong in both contact and power. He tends to be a bit impatient, and that shows at the plate as well.

Name: Harry "Goblin" Osborne
Bats: L
Throws: L
Hometown: New York, NY
Position: SP
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Bio: Born to great wealth, Harry is more than a little bit of a loner. He can be charming but is also a bit of a psychopath. Not much of an athlete early in life, some suspect that he must be taking something, because he exploded during high school and became a physical specimen. He attributes the growth to hard work and good genes, as his father was also an extraordinary athlete. The rumors persist as he is a pretty normal athlete, except on game day, when he explodes into something much greater. His fastball jumps out of his hand, and his variety of breaking pitches snap and crackle. He's also extremely durable, never suffering as much as a sore shoulder. While his teams love to have him pitching every fifth day, they could do without his presence on his off days.

Bats: R

Bio: Tris wasn't too keen on playing baseball growing up but he often tagged along with his dad, who was a minor league coach, to the games. Eventually he learned to like the game and found out he was pretty darn good at it. He's an excellent CFer who seems to have all of the tools.

Name: Cash Money
Bats: R
Throws: R
Hometown: Nashville, TN
Position: LF
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Bio: The youngest son in a baseball family, Cash can really rake. He sprays the ball to all fields when he's on, and has just enough pop to keep pitchers honest. A sure-handed fielder who's got good wheels, he's definitely got "ballplayer" written in his DNA. Best known for his easy-going attitude and flip-up shades with dollar signs on them, Cash is a fan favorite wherever he goes.

Name: Blake Money
Bats: L
Throws: L
Hometown: Nashville, TN
Position: RF
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Bio: Unlike younger brother Cash, Blake is all business on the baseball field. He's a professional hitter who protects the strike zone and doesn't swing at bad pitches. A tireless worker, Blake is a solid fielder and smart runner despite lacking the top-notch athletic tools that his brother has. Good project-able big-league power in his swing as well.

Name: Pancho Pearslice
Bats: R
Throws: R
Hometown: Tijuana
Position: C
Ethnicity: Mexican
Bio: Pancho grew up on the humble streets of Tijuana. His father, a security guard at a churro factory, thought baseball would be good for his son. After only a handful of games, he has become a natural. He has the power to hit the ball out of any park but is too impatient at the place. He might not be Speedy Gonzalez on the base paths, but he is a smart runner.
