Sad to see Big Papi leave but it'd be tough to fit him to extend him. Hope he rakes in the Johnson. Thanks for the trade Alan, go get'em!

I left spots open in the low minors for the prospects. Thanks!

Love the return for San Antonio. I was after this guy for a long time, but he never produced to his ratings. I'm sure he signs an extension, but if he doesn't, it's a steep price. I'd rather lose to a basher like Big Papi than TWC's ragtag bunch of fielders with timely hits.

Re: San Antonio and Twin Cities
It is a huge risk. My thinking is that if he signs an extension, it voids his player option and thus I'll have him for just $4.5 million next year. That adds a lot of value for me. I wanted to keep Homilka out of the deal, but at the end of the day... a DH is easily replaceable.Dington wrote: ↑Thu Dec 28, 2023 3:28 pmLove the return for San Antonio. I think the reason why he never lived up to potential is that he is a career .246/.297/.360 hitter VS LHP in over 1,800 plate appearances. His righty splits are much, much better at .307/.407/.546. By sitting him against lefties, I'm expecting the latter. Maybe even higher because he gets more rest and less cold streaks. Less is more.

Yeah his splits are bad and he kills righties. I suspect he will sign an extension, but I hope it’s costly.ae37jr wrote: ↑Thu Dec 28, 2023 4:29 pmIt is a huge risk.
