Huntsville receives:
Luis Espinoza
Vancouver receives:

Simmer: Simply replace Espinoza in the rotation with Cavazos. Easy peasy.

Re: Huntsville/Vancouver
damn, I tried this same trade with Gerardo Castillo and after it got shot down, put a straight up waiver claim on Chunk. Even though Cavazos is old, injury prone, and appears to be in the decline, he is one of the most extreme ground ballers in the league and relies on movement more then stuff. Those guys tend to be effective longer.
Big question here though. Traditionally Vancouver has been the home to undervalued power pitchers with mediocre movement. Cavazos doesn't seem to fit that mold. With the Mounties rebuilding, could this be a play to rebuild his value, take some time/money off the contract, possibly eat some money and flip him for some spects?

Re: Huntsville/Vancouver
Not only take time and money off just from the season going, but the switch to 19 in the offseason will allow him to eat some of the contract too in a trade to get more value. If he does rebuild value, teams who may be on the bubble for financial reasons can get in on him Brett is willing to do that. That is, of course, if that team is willing to pay a little extra for that.ae37jr wrote:With the Mounties rebuilding, could this be a play to rebuild his value, take some time/money off the contract, possibly eat some money and flip him for some spects?
