WWYD w/ Jamie Barber
What would you do with him?
Rocky Mountain career has been up and down. Pitched well in 2060 but struggled in 2061. Has been healthy for 2 straight years. Seems to be a 2.5-3.5 WAR SP when he's on. He has an $11M TO for 2062. Can't remember the buyout on it. Decent pitching isn't cheap but he is worth it at this point?

Re: WWYD w/ Jamie Barber
Unless you have a replacement ready, that's about the going rate on a 3ish WAR pitcher IMO.

Re: WWYD w/ Jamie Barber
There should be more polls like this
Let him pitch, he's a fine #4 starter who settles in at around a 4.50 FIP on average, +/- 0.50.

Re: WWYD w/ Jamie Barber
I would say keep him and you could potentially trade him at the deadline depending on how things are going for your team and/or him.
Considering the fact that he has put up 15.1 WAR since I traded him to Rocky Mountain and the guys I got for him have combined to put up -0.6 WAR and another prospect, I might be leaning too heavily on the idea that not having him on your team can feel bad.
But like others have said, he’s a solid pitcher for who is fairly reasonably priced if he stays healthy.

Re: WWYD w/ Jamie Barber
His age, inconsistencies, and shrinking cap probably scared a few teams off. But he is still a solid 7 movement pitcher that should hold some trade value.
I'll admit I have thought a lot about him. I could let Stone walk, pick up a comp pick, trade for an undervalued Barber, he has a career year and then get another comp pick. Of course a lot could go wrong with that plan.

Re: WWYD w/ Jamie Barber
If you plan to make the playoffs I'd definitely hold on to him. If you plan to rebuild and save some money I'd still execute the option and just shop him around.

Execute the option and if you decide not to keep him, somebody will trade for him,.

Re: WWYD w/ Jamie Barber
His velocity has dropped 4 times since July of 2060 causing his stuff to drop along with it. You may get another season out of him but your return may be reduced as he continues to age. But as @indiansfan says, "Somebody will trade for him."

I'd keep him and see what offers you get. Somebody is going to need pitching.
