It’s baseball season again! We get to taste the salty tears of Goats everywhere. And we like the Atlases (but the tears are soooo salty). Got a fair number of walkoffs in the first 3 Sims of the season – corresponding with about the middle of April. We’ve got 2 Goats that lurched into the lead and already have a derpoff…and by a position player!!
The Walkoff Watch Terminology
balkoff When a pitcher balks in the winning run.
derpoff When a pitcher walks in the winning run, hits a batter with the bases full, or the winning run scores due to a wild pitch or error.
200-proof walkoff When the home team scores in the bottom of a previous inning to extend the game and then scores with a walkoff in a subsequent inning.
pimpoff When the home team scores a walkoff following the visiting team tying the game to cause extra innings (or more extra innings) or scoring what would have been the winning run if the home team hadn’t responded.

- There are some teams completely waxing their competition in 1-run games. New Orleans is 5-0, San Antonio 4-0, and Yellow Springs 4-0. Of course, we have the other end of the scale as well. Long Beach is 0-5 in 1-run affairs, Brooklyn is 0-4, Chicago 0-3.
- Bikini has been involved in 6 (!!!) (!!) walkoff games already going 3-3.
- San Antonio has gone 3-0 in the young season, Vancouver 2-0, Yellow Springs 3-0, and Portland 2-0.
- Long Beach is a miserly 0-3 in walkoffs, while Boise, Hawaii, and Mexico City are each 0-2.
- Hawaii’s Bill Phillips and Bikini’s Félix Vidaca quickly jumped out to the lead in the Silver Goat standings.
- Meanwhile, San Fernando SS Niaz Minhas couldn’t handle a grounder with 2 outs in the bottom of the 11th and Sacramento’s Badr Isam raced home to the deafening roar of Mopes fans.
