If a team doesn't have an official “top performance” in any given week, I will report a
previously-unreported one or something else studly about their team.

Stats immediately following a player's name are as of the date of the great performance.


NOTES

* Ridsdale (Madrid) gives up walk-off grand slam but keeps “no blown save” streak intact (see below)
* Mike Strauss (Paris) reaches base safely 7 times in game versus Brussels
* only three official Top Performances this sim



Amsterdam (46-52 4th WA)

-81- Sebastian Waring (8-10, 4.69) pitches 8 2/3 innings of shut out ball, allowing three
singles and a walk in a 3-0 win over Rome before Anthony Petit retires the last better to
record his 21st save.


Belfast (67-31 1st EA)

-60- C Eleuterio Cestini (.296-19-78), batting clean up, goes 2-4 with two home runs,
two walks and four rbis in an 11-4 win at Amsterdam. Cestini leads Belfast with 86 rbis
and is tied with Brussels' Brad Sharples for the league lead.


Brussels (30-68 4th EA)

-na- 3B Antonio Saldivar(.246-2-23), batting sixth, hits a walk-off grand slam off of
Ashley Risdale in the tenth inning of a 5-1 win over Madrid.

Ashley Ridsdale (2-1-26, 3.67) gets the loss. But since it was not a save situation, his
streak of 26 opportunities without a blown save remains intact—thus making the
streak of dubious value.


London (46-52 3rd EA)—from last sim

-62- 3B Corradeo Sicurella (.258-7-46) goes 3-5 with a home run and five rbis in a
17-6 win at Brussels. Sicurella leads the Bishops with 370 at bats in 95 games.


Madrid (48-49 2nd WA)

-na- 1B Richard Steggall (.353-3-20), batting second, goes 3-5 with a home run, 3 rbis,
and 3 runs scored in a 7-2 win over Rome. Steggall is playing a platoon role. He
formerly played 8 years in the farm systems of Birmingham and Des Moines.


München (58-39 1st WA)

-na- RF Florent Guegan (.280-9-56), batting third, goes 4-6 with a home run, two
doubles, four rbis, and three runs scored in a 16-5 win over Amsterdam. The effort does
not make the official Top Performance board.


Paris (50-49 2nd WA)

-64- CF Mike Strauss (.293-10-53), leading off, goes 4-4 with 3 walks in an 18-5 road
win at Brussels. He has 3 rbis and leaves no one on base.


Rome (46-51 3rd EA)

-na- LF Lewis Quebell (.287-9-47), batting sixth, hits a two-run home run in the top of
the 14th in a 4-2 win at Paris. Quebell, who goes 3-5, also doubles in the 10th inning.
