HITS
Tom Mohler of the Hackensak Bulls owns the current record at 255 in a season. Projects show that Benjamin Rivero will surpass that by at least 45 hits. Yes it seems Rivero is on pace to knock 304 hits. That is almost 2 hits per game!
HOMERUNS
So the current record holder is Joe Belinda with 64 in 1996. It seems the commish's own Randy Square will get 97 this season at his current pace. A host of others behind him are around 81 for the season. Is the record in danger?
RUNS BATTED IN
One again, Joe Belinda holds court here with 180 RBIs in that same 1996 season. This season we have a couple of players on pace to go over the 200 mark. Sirius Black is the current front runner, tabbed to knock in 243. Wow.
WALKS
Who doesn't like a free pass every now and then? Well old Joe Morgan took 132 of them in 1975. Brock Lee plans to take 182 of them at his current rate. Who's afraid to pitch to this guy?
DOUBLES
Former Monarch Emile Santos was known to knock an extra base hit. In 1986 he hit an unbelievable 87 doubles. Hard to believe, but a couple of players may be able to break that record at their current rate. Rafael Rodriguez looks to get about 108 doubles if he keeps this up. I bet he would hit more doubles than any other type of hit combined at that rate.
WINS
Legendary pitcher Roy Hobbs, Jr. posted an amazing mark of 28 wins in 1978. Well the Black Sox own George Fagg is looking to get about 61 wins at his pace. What is Chicago running, a 3 man rotation?
STRIKEOUTS
As wild as HOF Steve Nebraska's mark of 423 batters K'd is from his 1976 season, it could be broken at this rate. Andres Guzman must like it in newly rlocate Marquette. He is on pace to strike out 466 batters.
SHUTOUTS
Here's one that definitely won't come about. Our friend, Steve Nebraska, achieved 11 shutouts in 1979. Well this season, Paul Kimzey of the 9-1 Crusaders is on pace to shut out 32 games. Really?
HR ALLOWED
A year prior to Nebraska's shutout mark, Kip Beichman got 78 jacks hit off of him. Well he will gladly step aside and let the next guy come in if Damario Poso or Hank Davidson keep up the pace. They are currently project to allow 90 HR this season.
Always a fun and entertaining perspective to start the season IMHO.
