Game Log We start this new feature with a banger! If you like high-scoring shootouts in your walkoffs well, this one wasn't for you and you likely left in the 12th inning or earlier. Boise starter Josh Clark and Vegas' Jim Fleming were fire with the former allowing just one run in 7 innings while Fleming did the same over 5.2. Clark had 7 strikeouts and Fleming had 8, as Boise bullpen posted 10 K's to Vegas' 7. Each squad used 7 pitchers on the night. Even though there were a total of 28 hits, that's just a pace of 12 overall hits in 9 innings...another sign that this was a down and dirty pitching and defense special. Given that the game stayed scoreless for 17 innings, being tied at 1 since the 3rd, it probably felt like game-over when the Hustlers punched in a run in the top of the 21st. The run came on a solo HR off the bat of 1B Don Delaney victimizing Boise reliever Juan Guzmán. In the bottom of the inning, the Spuds used 3 singles to load the bases when a bases-loaded error on Vegas 2B Randy Wright allowed Spuds RF Tsutomu Yamauchi to score the tying run. With the bases still loaded and 1 out, Allison delivered the killing blow in the form of an RBI single off Rodríguez. The teams left a combined 15 runs on base in extra frames including 3 stranded by the Hustlers in the top of the 19th.
