Reserves (as selected by Stephen Lane, GM of the Frick League Champion Long Beach Surfers)
C Pedro Gomez, Chicago Black Sox
I really wanted to get Diesel Dave in here, but Gomez is having a great season, and I figured this might also help Chris feel better about not having a real standout All-Star representative.
1B Manuel Martinez, Portland Lumberjacks
Speaking of Chris, I've got to play by the rules here and give him someone to represent the Lumberjacks.
2B Chua-kah Yang, Des Moines Kernels
Yang is having a bounce-back year in Des Moines and he felt worthy of a spot. Timmy Karnes is deserving, but Yang fit better on the roster.
2B Dong-po Thum, Yellow Springs Nine
The voting for second base in the Frick League was quite a mess, and Thum ended up third with 7 votes. Apologies to Francisco Arredondo, who I actually voted for, but I didn't want to overload the roster with River Monsters.
3B Alex Ramirez, Twin Cities River Monsters
Speaking of River Monsters, Ramirez was second in the voting, and is having another solid season. This will be his 8th All-Star Game selection.
3B Luis Mendoza, Louisville Sluggers
The twenty-two-year-old is having a breakout season and looks to be the type of player that will be a perennial All-Star
SS Quinn Richardson, San Fernando Bears
Richardson is another first timer, and though he's only 23 years old, he made his BBA debut way back in 2041. He's on pace for a career-best 5 WAR.
OF Ricardo Torres, Long Beach Surfers
Another breakout player, Torres is 25 and also on pace for 5 WAR in his first season as a full-time starter.
OF Alexander Julyan, Seattle Storm
He's currently injured, but I had to recognize the 2.6 WAR that he produced in just 47 games this season. Wow!
OF Millard Younger, Long Beach Surfers
This is probably my least justifiable homer-pick, but Younger has been great in Long Beach and is having a great season so far.
OF David Simpson, Twin Cities River Monsters
Need I say anything?
OF Fernando Castillo, Vancouver Mounties
Yes, I forgot do add a representative for Vancouver. Yes, he's more than deserving of his 3rd straight All-Star appearance.
SP Dave Lee, Yellow Springs Nine
Oh, hey, look it's another ace coming up in Yellow Springs.
SP Carlos Valle, Yellow Springs Nine
Seriously, I can't remember the last time YS didn't have at least two ace-level starters on the roster. Carlos Pineda didn't even make the cut. How ridiculous is that team?
SP Eustace Tilley, Sacramento Mad Popes
I offered this spot to Manuel Cruz, but he told me he's embarrased enough that he has to wear the Mad Popes uniform for games he's contractually obligated to compete in, and declined a spot in the ASG to represent Sacramento. So, we'll go with Tilley, who reminds me a bit of Jimmy Greenwood, which is cool with me.
RP Luis Manuel Rodriguez, Long Beach Surfers
There might be better relievers out there, but I won the Frick last year, and you didn't, so Rodriguez gets a spot. It's not like he's undeserving though, with a 2.41 ERA and 2.7 WAR.
RP Dean Stranaghan, Yellow Springs Nine
Stranaghan is not quite Lozano, but he's damn good, and deserving of the last spot here in the 2045 All Star Game.
