Didn't make myself clear 
The fact the Red Sox are an AL team means my feelings for them are limited to a soft spot. I could never fully commit! That said....... my favourite memory in my fledgeling MLB watching career was watching Tim Wakefield pitch for the first time. Wow, I was mesmerised at first I thought what the hell it's like watching your Grandad pitch. Then as the game progressed it was like watching batters try and hit smoke, I thought at one point he had the ball on a piece of string. Absolute thing of beauty! Mind you next time I saw him I think he'd lost the string. He got tonked.
