2042 - AVERAGE PLATE APPEARANCE

Post by RonCo » Fri May 01, 2020 12:56 am

Relative to this post, from last year, I ran a quick update on average plate appearances in the BBA through July. Thought some of you might find them interesting or valuable.

You might note that, relative to the idea of increases in singles/doubles/triples this year, the average plate appearance pitcher's stuff is up a little, but the average plate appearance batter's CON and GAP are also up.

Question on the 2037 numbers, were those before the shift to relative ratings?

2037 is when we moved to relative ratings. But we toggled it in mid-season, and I'm not sure when those numbers were created.

just based on pitching ratings alone i would be inclined to think those numbers are before the switch.

Could well be. I would be cautious of them.
