the list can't come out until spring training starts

Is there a specific reason for this other than players not being signed by teams until Spring Training so a team doesn't get a pick? I figure you should have an idea if you will be getting one or not.

There's just no reason to make the list until we know what players sign before the deadline. Draft doesn't start until sim 4 or 5 so there's plenty of time.

I get where Brandon is coming from—I’ll make different decisions (such as how much draft cash to budget) based on how many guys will be eligible for comp. As it stands now I try to do my own estimate.

Yeah i guess that makes sense. The numbers don't change much from year to year though, so it's easy enough to make a guess based on that.

I hardly ever get aggressive with the IFA's, but I was actually pretty close to Jacksonville's deal with Renders.

Look at that list. only 6 people are going to get a comp pick. So if you're using that as leverage it doesn't hold water. Your chances are around 25 percent.

Sure. But some of that is on us lower teams and the choices we make. And looking at the list is a bad logic because you're only seeing guys that were NOT traded.

If we deal a comp eligible player for less than a comp pick value, we would never know by this list.
