MBWBA Ammy Draft 2008

Post by recte44 » Sat Dec 08, 2012 9:49 am

Thanks to Kyle's great research on Comp Picks, and me going through every single draft pick for the first 5 rounds from last year to see who didn't sign, we have a correct draft order set up and ready to go in OOTPOU.

Draft is OPEN now.

Draft clock will begin Monday, December 10 at 8am Central. It will be a 4 hour clock for R1, 2 hour through R2, and then 1 hour thereafter.

And even better, it gave me an idea to solve the compensation questions....but we'll discuss that in the Gov Board forums.

Are those like the utilidors at Disney World? All mysterious and gossiped about until you get down there and realize it's just a bunch of people getting work done day after day and not really that awesome as you thought it was when you were on the outside looking in (or down in Disney's case)?

Most definitely. And maybe even like the maintenance doors of a subway or metro line. Although not as filled with ammunition and bottle caps as in Fallout. ;)

No, they have a GM. He's been exporting....though not at all active on the forums as of yet. He's learning.

I'm not going to start the clock until tomorrow. This gives everyone "a business day" to realize the draft is going (and yes, everyone received a PM about this...).

The suspense is literally killing me. There are only 4 guys in this entire draft that I truly want, 2 are gone and 1 more is going to, most likely, be coming off the board soon. That leaves me with 1 guy and 3 slots 'til my pick.

Btw, can you trade draft picks and/or recently drafted players on draft day? If my guy gets taken a pick or two before me I plan to offer my 1st+3rd for him on the spot.

Yes, I got all that, except that Montreal gets Washington's #2 pick, not #1-- but this is correct in the utility.

My query refers to the apparent mistake of Des Moines Kernels having two first round picks wedged in between those of Vegas and Phoenix.

When a player isn't signed post-draft the year prior the team whom failed to sign them receives a compensatory pick in the same draft position next year -1 slot.

"1-16 Des Moines failed to sign Wyn Dees" = Des Moines has the #17 pick this year. It is only happenstance that they have the 16th pick again by record for the 2nd year straight.

You can't trade recently drafted players until their first professional season is complete.

What he said. It's just coincidence that their record from last season has them drafting in essentially the same spot as last year.

Sorry, I totally didn't see the first line: Des Moines 1-16 failed to sign Wyn Des, or whatever.

My bad.

Bah, no draft day deals even? (ie. before they are even put in game)

Now my tension is even higher.
