Completed Trades- Use StatsPlus TRADE TOOL

Post by recte44 » Sat Aug 03, 2024 12:40 pm

https://statsplus.net/brewster/trade/#create

Do the Trade in there, it will ask the other GM to confirm. This will eliminate any misspellings, wrong players or terms, etc. and make it easier for me to process.

Use the "Notes" section for Pre-Sim instructions.

You no longer have to post in the Completed Trades forum.

I hope this is less clunky than when I was in another league. Ironically this might shift my trade frequency.

why? what would be clunky about selecting a level from a drop down, clicking on the player(s) you want included, writing any notes in the "notes" box, and clicking submit. Then the other team confirms it and adds any notes.

Ok. Not having used the tool before, that's all cool. Not to be that guy, though, I'm hoping people would still post trades in the "completed trades" section simply because that gives a public announcement.

Is there such a thing in the Stats Plus tool?

It announces in a channel that the commish sets up in discord. Ive used it in many leagues. It's the easy button.

Seeing that channel, it's going to be quite different trying to find historical trades, It will be fine in the moment, I think. But it's not a very reader-friendly presentation, and a shudder with the idea of trying to scroll through to find anything in history once it's loaded up a bit.

I'll post in the forum's Completed Trades forum when the trade is processed

As an example there are 167 trades over 5 years in a league that is accessible but I dont know how far it will go back before the earliest trades drop off.

I would guess they will remain accessible. Dunno. But -- and maybe I'm just a fuddy-duffy -- I find scrolling scrolling in discord to be mind-numbingly ineffective, whereas clicking through the forum pages, where in the trading teams are listed clearly, feels quite clean to me.

We could always post trade AND do it in stats+. The commish uses stats+ and the forum is the history.

I already stated that when the trade is processed, I'll create a forum thread for each trade. Voila

Does this immediately become public once posted - or could we use it for proposed trade offers as well?

You could use it to propose trades, too, as nothing goes public until the recipient accepts the proposal. I've tried using it as a proposal tool in another league, but I sense GMs are reluctant to hit the No button. Plus, i dont think we can counter-propose, so each proposal is all-or-nothing in game.

In this other league, we end up having to work through terms the old-fashioned way, through Slack chats.

After reading through the information on this tool, it looks like something that will be a big help.

@recte44 For instructions that don't end up in the notes in the stats plus trade tool, where would you like us to post instructions? Ping:Commish? Completed Trades?

When you propose a trade you can add instructions. That's not an option when you accept the trade. Where do you want those instructions?
