Hmmm...I'm not sure I see a big difference there compared to what happens now. When you look at our draft classes, there are a lot of guys at the top listed as SP who won't be SP after the draft. Perhaps there are just even fewer relievers listed as such in the draft than there are now.
I would be interested in seeing if there is any change in how pitches/GF%/velocity and all of that stuff is used.

Re: OOTP 13 Update
The pitching stuff excites me a lot...makes it much more realistic, and easier for teams to rebuild without having to mortgage the rest of the team to do so.

Re: OOTP 13 Update
I haven't noticed a change in what the engine does with the ratings, only that the ratings rarely indicate a guy is obviously better as a starter, reliever, or closer. The difference in the elite guys is still there, but the bulk of pitchers you have to look close and pay attention to how they perform in their roles.jcrmoon42 wrote:Hmmm...I'm not sure I see a big difference there compared to what happens now. Also, the ratings are MUCH more dynamic. In v12, we typically send a career starter to the 'pen when he's too old to be reliable over 5+ innings. In v13, you have guys start to trend away from what they've been doing best. Might have a top-notch starter who's FB & Stuff start climbing through the roof while his 3rd pitch languishes down in the 1-3 range. Eventually he might become more valuable and effective as a closer and that could happen in the middle of his career. The opposite is true as well, of course.
