After the 5 game to 1 loss in the GBC Championship, a series called the Denny's Marko Worldwide, the Pharaohs sent five of their major league staff packing. The did not renew the contracts of the hitting coach, first base coach, and team trainer. The HQ also accepted the retirements of manager Stan Hampton and pitching coach Numan Salim. Hampton, 62 years old, had excellent relationships with nine players BUT poor relationships with 13. Twelve of them were pitchers. Veteran Prabhu Vogelsang said he was having no problems, no problems with Hampton. Pitching Coach Salim had a bell curve as far as relationships go.
The Pharaohs restaffed/restocked their Organization Personnel by hiring five new personnel. Among these was the London Monarchs outgoing hitting coach Hung-K'uei Cui, who will be the manager at Cairo this season. The remarks of JRamirez were "I am so new here that I didn't even know Cui was the Monarchs coach last season. All I did was search for certain criteria and make phone calls." Cui also previously managed the Brooklyn Robins, running up 5 straight 100+ loss seasons, 2048-2052. Prior to that, however, 2040 to 2044, he was the bench coach for Yellow Springs and the Nine topped 105 wins a year. Cui enters Cairo with only two Pharaohs having a fair relationship with him. He has a Good relationship with most of the Pharaohs. His overall relationship status at the moment is Good.
The Pharaohs new pitching coach is an unproven forty year old who costs $150,000 a season. That is Patrick Abdale. He allegedly has a Legendary team pitching rating despite no coaching history. He has excellent to good relationships with 95% of the team's ML pitchers.
