This was a rough week on the field for the Pharaohs, as they lost 5 of the 7 games they played.
Guruvayur Vashisth pitched well enough to earn two quality starts but lost on game 3-0 and saw the bullpen squander a lead in a game Cairo lost in 15 innings.
Grigore Balas and Andresa Pires both pitched deep into their games and came away with wins. Antonio Ramirez was less fortunate. He pitched well into the 7th against Buenos Aires but left trailing 2-1. After the offense tied the game in the 9th, Jason Hone walked a man with the bases loaded to hand the Brisas the victory 3-2.
David Torres pitched poorly in both of his starts this week, falling to 3-3 on the season and seeing his ERA jump to 5.08.
Off the field, the Pharaohs made 17-year old 1B John Lauzon the 5th overall pick in the draft. Lauzon hit 44 HR in three seasons at the high school level with a combined OPS+ of 202.
