Winning six of their final seven games in August prevented a disastrous month. The Generals started the month 7-15 but ended it 13-16 after the late surge. They couldn't manage back to back wins the entire month until an unlikely road sweep of Manama the final week of the month. "We continue to look to add pieces as they become available to us," said GM Herb DeSpain. "We'd like to win more games but our main focus now has to be on development and next year. 46 different players have taken the field for us so that tells you we just haven't figured it out yet." With rumors of more moves the only thing that did happen at the deadline was DeSpain shipping set up man Juan Jose Fuentes to Beirut for SP prospect Paddy Flemming. Flemming, a third round pick of the Cedars in 2041, is currently the 16th best prospect in the UMEBA. "He's pitched very well in his first two games with our double A team," DeSpain explained. "He does have some attitude issues that we will correct in the offseason."
