Light wind - 2059.9 - Four-ling away

The Brisas are 52-51 after losing the last 5, and 8 of the last ten. It's a devastating blow for a team on the border of the wild card race as they've fallen 4 games behind with less than 60 games to play. The offense continues to be the strong point of this team, despite a slump Greene continues to have an OPS over 1.000. Garrison is continuing to earn every penny of his $10 million salary this year, and a big shout out to Alejandro Gonzáles who is hitting .297/.347/.532 in his first 121 PAs since making the jump to the bigs. This leads to a league-leading .775 OPS and .327 wOBA despite being just 6th in runs scored.

The pitching side of things lacks real star power, 4.39 ERA ranks 6th in the GBC with their rotation ranking 5th with 4.38 and their pen ranking 7th with 4.39. The rotation has no real star arm, although the old boys Don Castor (35 with a 3.74 ERA) and Millard MacIndeor (33 with a 3.84 ERA) have been fun to watch. The bullpen has been far more up and down though, most have struggled with ERAs over 5 and if it wasn't for a trio of starting options in Javier De Jesús (2.72 ERA in 39,2 innings), Troy Torres (2.44 ERA in 51.2 innings) and Ferede Keohi (2.76 ERA in 49 innings) we'd be talking about this bullpen as far below average.

What is next for the Brisas though? Well, they're far from out of things even if every loss hurts more than the last. While the pitching certainly has room to improve, ultimately this offense needs to pick back up if this team wants to make the playoffs. It's a good thing they have the best hitter in GBC history on their side, right?
