Athens Fighting Centaurs (7-5)
Jerusalem Hebrew Hammers (6-7)
Tuesday 15th 4-13, Wednesday 16th 2-5, Thursday 17th 8-6.

Hammers Hammer Athens

Athens suffered their heaviest defeat in this still young season, Mao was pulled early on giving 6 runs up in the first 2 innings he pitched. Chavez was the only Athens player who could hold his head up high getting 3 hits on his 4 plate appearance's. It was all about the Hammers hitters though with every hitter crossing the plate. In fact every player bar Ortiz got on base with at least one hit, he didn't let his team down though as he worked the count twice to get on base in a Jerusalem easy win.

Hammers Walk To Victory

Athens gave up only 5 hits in what should have been even closer than the score would have you believe, the problem was 10 walks that the Centaurs pitching gave up. Yes if you give up 10 free passes it's going to cost you in the end, Ramadhin (4), Plotz (5) and Angwin (1) just had no control and the Hammers pounced on their slackness.

Centaurs Share The Load

Team that's the philosophy of the Centaurs and that philosophy came through as 7 Centaurs each had at least 1 rbi, winning a game is made easier if most of your opposition aren't firing on all cylinders, you get 7 players firing it's like stopping a juggernaut. It also helped that the Centaurs knocked out Jerusalem's starting pitcher Sanchez after just over 3 innings after he gave up 5 runs, one thing's for certain after a 2-4 road trip Athens will be glad to get back home.

Mumbai Metro Stars (5-9)
Athens Fighting Centaurs (8-7)
Friday 18th 9-7, Saturday 19th 7-5, Sunday 20th 6-13, Monday 21st 2-8.

Walk On By

Athens were out hit 12-15 but they out walked Mumbai 10-1 and that was the difference, 3 of the walks gained 3 runs or it could easily have been a 7-6 defeat instead of a 9-7 win for the Centaurs. Leading the team in walks were Cuervo (3), Hardy (3) and Wood (2). It was the bottom of the 5th when both Cuervo and Hardy were walked which both led to a 3 run inning that turned the tide the Centaurs way.

Chavez Leads The Way

If ever there was a player of a game it was Vincente 'Gonzo' Chavez 3 for 5 a triple throw in a couple singles, not forgetting 3 rbi and a run while your at it throw in a stolen base. Chip 'Sarge' Saunders went 2 for 5 with 3 rbi but even he had to admit it was Gonzo's day in the spotlight.

Lopez Slams Athens

It looked plain sailing for the first two games of the series, come the third and Athens had no answer to either the Stars nor Gerardo López. 22 hits and 13 runs by Mumbai overwhelmed the Athens team. Mumbai were led by López with what seems a paltry 2 hits but those 2 hits combined for 5 rbi and a run in what turned out to be an easy victory.

Lopez Haunts Centaurs

It was like seeing a ghost as Gerardo López came back to haunt Athens with his paltry 2 hits, this time combining for 3 rbi and 2 runs which meant 8 rbi and 3 runs in the last two games against Athens.
