2063.15 I’m not looking forward to next July

Post by Krathan » Fri Jul 11, 2025 11:34 am

Did somebody in the organization make a crack about July’s mom? Or did they cheat on July with another month? I ask this because July took my entire organization outside and beat us within an inch of our lives. Fortunately, August has gone better, especially for the big league club, but July was ridiculous.

Look at this:

BBA Charlotte:

We entered July 10 games over .500. June wasn’t great at 14-14 but we went 11-15 in the month and fell behind the last wildcard spot. If it hadn’t been for one string of 6 straight wins the month could have been disastrous. Going 18-6 so far in August has helped us pull out of the mess a bit but that month was frustrating.

AAA Richmond:

The Panthers aren’t having a particularly good season, but June made it look like maybe we were turning things around. After entering June 9 games under .500, the boys went 16-8 to pull within 1 game of the mark. Then July knocked us back down with a 13-16 record and we haven’t recovered in August.

AA New Bern

A strong April and a respectable May and Junehad the Bears sitting 6 games over .500 going into July. Then July pulled two automatic pistols out of her holsters and riddled us with bullets to the tune of a 6-23 record. August has been almost as bad but that would be tough to recover from so I’m not surprised.

A Danville

The Dodos are not a good team and entered July 16 games under .500. Then we went 8-21 in July to nearly double that mark. Currently sitting 10-14 in August, July has been the only month with single digit wins.

Short A Adirondack

The Beavers were pretty good in June (15-12) and have been very good so far in August (14-8). So how did we go 8-19 in July? July is a cruel, cruel month. That’s how.

Rookie Elkins

The Buzzards got out of the gate strong with a 17-10 June but July kicked us in the teeth and we went 11-16. So far, we are playing .500 ball in August.

Full organization:

All told, my organization played 167games in the month of July and went 57-110 for a “winning” percentage of .341.

We’re sorry July. Whatever we said, we didn’t mean it. Whatever we did to offend you, we apologize and promise to never do it again. Please don’t do this again to us next year.

That's life (that's life)
That's life and I can't deny it
Many times I thought of cutting out, but my heart won't buy it
But if there's nothing shaking, come this here July
I'm gonna roll myself up
In a big ball and die
