2062.26 Watson Wants Wins

With the Battle for Carolina set to resume this week, Charlotte Flyers owner John Watson stepped into a happy clubhouse after Sunday's 13-5 win over the New Orleans Crawdads. Watson walked to the middle of the clubhouse and caught the attention of team captain Jacquot Natta. Natta walked over to the owner, who asked him to quiet the room.

"Hey! Guys! Listen up! Mr. Watson has something he'd like to say!"

Watson nodded in Natta's direction and thanked him for his assistance. "That's right Bandit. I do have something I want to say to the team. I want to start by saying that this was a great win today!"

The players yelled out celebratory sounds for a moment before Watson quieted them like an orchestra conductor signaling for the group to stop playing.

"I'm glad to see that you are back to your winning ways. The sweep of Montreal and splitting the first two here with the Crawdads is a big improvement over the first couple of weeks. I think it's important to remind you that our rivals, that team out east, are coming here, into our house, later this week. We only won one of the three games we played in their park earlier this month and we need to make sure we take care of business when they invade Family Dollar Field on Thursday. I don't want any excuses about being tired after playing a three game series on the road against Charm City before we face them. I want to see maximum effort for the entire series. Beating that team is important to this city and it needs to be important to you."

"We got this boss! We'll give 'em hell!" called out Jose Bedreddin, and the rest of the team started shouting in agreement.

"That's what I want to hear boys!"

Watson waved his approval to the group as he turned and left the clubhouse.
