2060.17-Overreactions to Sim #1

Small sample sizes be damned. The Flyers have a lot to think about after the seasons opening weekend.

Alejandro Chávez must be removed as the closer. Sure, he followed up his game 1 blown save by converting a save in game 2, but a 50% conversion rate isnt going to cut it. And the guy hasnt made it through an appearance without giving up at least 1 run. Closers who give up 1 or more runs every time they pitch are not getting the job done.

Jim Fleming is going to win the Nebraska. He was practically unhittable and his 33.3% strikeout rate is just phenomenal.

Buwono Mainaky is going to get a lot of Nebraska votes too. He was outstanding. Hes poised to have an even better year than he did last season. Other teams better watch out in the postseason with those two at the top of the rotation.

John Rasmussen III is washed up. We heard about his drop in velocity but hes throwing nothing but meatballs up there. Unbelievable. The front office is going to regret trading Mauro Rojas because theres nobody ready to step in for Little Johnny anymore. Rojas was brilliant is spring training, but they had to go and trade him for Cox.

Speaking of Mike Cox, that guy looks terrible. Hes hitting .100. Seriously? Thats what we traded our top pitching prospect for?

Miguel Montero might be the next star in Charlotte. That 9-2 inning ending double play and his 159 wRC+ against Brooklyn were a great start. Hes going to drive in like 150 runs this year. That was a great pick up.

They should have just brought José Bedreddin up instead of picking up Cox. Seriously. Uncle is hitting .529 with an OPS of 1.526. Why is he in AAA? Ridiculous!

And Harry Taylor is right there behind him. Hes hitting .467 with an OPS of 1.500. I know its only A ball, but after the way he embarrassed the Rookie League last year, its pretty clear hes ready for the big leagues. I dont know why hes not at least in Richmond already.

Whatever. This team is going nowhere. Losing 2 of 3 against Brooklyn to start the year means we cant even beat the worst team in the league from last year. If we cant win more than one game against them, how are we ever going to compete against the good teams?
