In this edition of Flight Log we take a look at the middle 10 games of the Charlotte Spring Training schedule.

The Flyers split the 10 games they played during this stretch to bring their preseason record to 10-10. Now we will look at some of the most interesting things that happened during those games.

Jacquot Natta was injured against Charm City. He has been diagnosed with hamstring tendinitis and will be out of action for the next two weeks. General Manager Nathan Garrison said “It’s unfortunate, obviously. Jacquot was playing great baseball and you hate to see something like this take an exciting young player off the field. The good news is that it’s not a major injury. He should be back and ready to go soon. It does clarify his role to start the season for us. Since he wasn’t able to get in the full Spring Training, we’re going to have no choice but to start him out in Richmond. We don’t think it would be in his best interest to throw him out there against BBA level competition without a full preseason to get ready for it. We hope to see him up here again soon for his debut.”

Aurelio Diéguez suffered a minor injury as well. He is being shut down temporarily with a sprained knee. Manager Antonio Hernandez said “If we were talking about meaningful games, Aurelio might play through this. It’s Soring Training. He can sit down for a few days and we can reevaluate him then.”

Kyuichi Mori continues to bat lead off and continues to hit the ball extremely well. More is hitting .415 through 20 preseason games.

Banger Dan is having a great Spring. He is hitting .368 with 2 home runs and 9 RBI so far.

Victor Frazier now has 5 doubles, 3 home runs, and 13 RBI in Spring Training. He has been clobbering the ball all throughout camp.

A lot of the starting pitchers have started to settle in as camp has progressed. They’re building up their pitch counts and seem to be finding a rhythm on the mound.

Despite the fact that Felix Camarco has struggled this Spring, the coaching staff has indicated that his track record over the last two seasons will keep his job safe to start the season as the team breaks camp.
