Charlotte Cougars fans have become accustomed a Cougar players winning the JL's Egan Reliever Award. The 2049 season was no different.
CL Augusto Ramírez won the JL Jason Egan Reliever Award. Ramirez came to the Cougars during spring training this season and by mid season ended up on the All Star roster. While Ramirez spent most of the season as the set up man to fellow pitcher Ashton Brooks, he eventually took over the Closer role when Brooks moved to the starting rotation. Ramirez saw action in 71 games, throwing 70.1 innings where he ended the season with 154 strikeouts to just 21 walks. His 5-4 record, with 21 saves, 1.54 ERA, and 0.67 WHIP were more than enough to secure him the award.
This is the 4th year in a row a Charlotte Cougar has won this award. In 2048, the award went to Ashton Brooks. In 2046-2047, the award went to Keijo 'Coach' Reini (who also wont the award in 1048 in the Frick League.)
With Ramirez having another year of being arbitration-eligible after 2050, will the Egan award continue to find its way to Charlotte for a few more seasons?

I'd love to make him a start but I'm too scared of that "Fragile" rating. I might stretch him out a little more this season, maybe give him 2 innings an appearance.

Hey, 4 years in a row with 3 different players - seemed impressive to me. Reini would have kept going but he wanted more money than I am paying my starting SS.tylertoo wrote: ↑Fri Feb 18, 2022 4:47 pmNow that's longevity!GoldenOne wrote: ↑Fri Feb 18, 2022 11:26 amIn 2046-2047, the award went to Keijo 'Coach' Reini (who also wont the award in 1048 in the Frick League.)
