2063.10 Two Trujillo Terrorize Teams

Post by Krathan » Fri Jun 13, 2025 7:06 pm

The "Trujillo Twins" are leading the Charlotte Flyers offensively in the absence of injured star two-way player Jacquot Natta.

While other players like Domingo Chavez, Tommy Anderson, Jose Vargas, and Jose Bedreddin are contributing to the team's success so far this year, the Flyers would be in trouble without a pair of players who share a surname.

Jorge Trujillo has been a solid player for Charlotte since first appearing on the scene late in 2058. He has two seasons with over 2 WAR (2.1 and 2.8). He led the league with 129 RBI in 2060. He hit 36 home runs that year as well. Through the first 58 games of 2063, Jorge has played at a higher level than ever before. He currently has a wRC+ of 150, 30 points higher than his career average. He has already put up 1.9 WAR, compared to his career high of 2.8 in 2060 in 146 games. Jorge is currently leading the team with a .335 batting average, second on the team with 47 RBI, and fourth on the team with 9 home runs. His RBI total is actually second in the Johnson league. Jorge has also provided quality defense in both corner outfield positions.

Alfredo Trujillo was acquired via trade this offseason in Cobble Hill's fire sale as the Robins try to get their finances under control. Cookie Monster has been working on learning first base after thoroughly proving that he is not a capable second baseman in Brooklyn the last few years, racking up an impressively poor -50.1 ZR at the position. His early defensive results at first in Charlotte have not been great, with a -2.5 ZR and Eff of .955 in 50 games but he has improved since first playing the position in Spring Training. Offensively, Cookie Monster is off to an excellent start, with a wRC+ of 151, the second highest batting average on the team of .308, a team leading 14 home runs, and a team and Johnson League leading 48 RBI.

Clearly, this team would not be experiencing anywhere near their current level of success without the impressive production of the Trujillo Twins.

I was wondering why that Trujillo guy always seemed to rake against me. It makes more sense now that I know there are two of them.

Yuan and Morales are mashing too but Trujillo is currently the leader in the “power hitter traded by the Robins” clubhouse.
