2062.60 Sim 24 Recap

Post by Krathan » Sat Apr 05, 2025 8:57 pm

The Flyers received some bad news this week as team doctors indicated that Jacquot Natta will need to miss more time than originally thought. The initial diagnosis was that Bandit would be able to return late in the upcoming series against Montreal. There is no longer a timetable for his return. They hope to learn more soon and Bandit's teammates, coaches, and fans all hope that the next thing they hear is good news. Charlotte is a better team with the star two way player and he could be a true difference maker if he is able to return for the postseason.

The Flyers played 7 games this week. Including the final 3 games of their series against Jacksonville and a 4 games series against Atlantic City.

Game 1: Ignacio Lewis struggled once again, allowing 5 runs on 9 hits, including 3 home runs in just 3.1 innings. This was the third straight game in which Lewis allowed 5 runs while completing fewer than 4 innings. The Flyers scored 3 in the 6th but could not get more as the Zombies won 6-3.

Game 2: Brody Picot allowed 3 home runs in his start as well. Ben Graybill hit a solo home run in the 5th but the Flyers just could not put together a big inning and Jacksonville won this one 6-2.

Game 3: The finale of the series featured Bob Anderson pitching against the only team he ever pitched for prior to being traded to Charlotte late last month. Anderson looked uncomfortable and struggled with his command. He allowed 5 runs on 7 hits and 3 walks in just 3.2 innings. The Flyers battled back, tying the game at 5 going to the 9th inning. Josh Dougherty gave up a run in the top of the 9th but the Flyers scored 2 in the bottom of the 9th for a walkoff win. The main offensive force for Charlotte was center fielder Jose Bedreddin. He homered twice and drove in the winning run with a walkoff RBI triple. Bob Anderson spoke after the game. "It was really weird facing those guys. I've never had an experience like that before. I may have let the moment get to me a bit. I'll be ready for the next one."

Game 4: Buwono Mainaky was fantastic, completing 6.1 innings, allowing just 1 walk and 3 hits, one being a solo home run, while striking out 10. Mainaky earned his 15th win of the season and the bullpen threw 2.2 scoreless innings to preserve the 4-1 victory.

Game 5: Domingo Chavez doubled twice and homered once in support of an outstanding pitching performance by Arturo Trevino. Trevino won his 5th game with the team and closer Josh Dougherty earned his 40th save as the Flyers won 3-2.

Game 6: Domingo Chavez and Jose Bedreddin each homered and Felipe Cummings pitched 5.1 solid innings as the Flyers won 6-2.

Game 7: Chavez and Loo Yang each drove in 2 while Jurge Trujillo drove in 3. Ignacio Lewis had his best start in weeks, allowing just 2 earned runs in 6 innings. The Flyers easily completed their sweep of Gamblers with a 10-3 victory.

The Flyers only have 8 games left and all of them are on the road. The series that could decide who wins the Atlantic Division comes this week. Charlotte and Montreal are tied at the top of the division and the two teams play a crucial 4 game set in Canada this week. Charm City is just a half game back and will play a 5 game series in Cape Fear this week.

Something tells me that the series between you guys and Montreal is going to be a great one.
