2067.79 Mosley chats with Onan Ogun

Onan Ogun recently received a phone call from Charlotte's Assistant General Manager Ron Mosley.

Mosley: Hello, Onan?

Ogun: Yes. That's right. My agent said that you'd be calling. Mr. Mosley, right?

Mosley: That's correct. I'm the assistant general manager for the Flyers. I wanted to talk to you about something.

Ogun: Ok, shoot...what can I help you with?

Mosley: Can you tell me how old you are?

Ogun: Sure. I'm 26.

Mosley: Ok. Well, this might sound a little weird, but I'm not sure that's right. Now that you're back in our organization, I decided to take a look through some of the old draft files from back when you were originally taken by Charlotte back in '54. It seems like they weren't convinced that your birth certificate was authentic.

Ogun: Hmm...Well, I don't know anything about that. Am I in trouble or something?

Mosley: No, nothing like that. We just want to make sure we have all the right information. I had some people look over your documents and they think there's about a 60% chance that your paperwork is inaccurate. We'd like to send a couple of our people to Turkey to take a look at it and see if we can get to the bottom of this.

Ogun: Ok...so...what does that mean for me? What if it turns out that the documents aren't real? What if I'm not actually 26?

Mosley: You would know the truth. It wouldn't void your contract or anything like that. It would just help us all to know more about you. What if it turns out you're only 24 or 25? That could maybe help explain why you struggled so much in the IFC and when you first got drafted. If you were only 16 or 17 when you were playing with those guys, it would make total sense that you had a hard time keeping up.

Ogun: And if I am 26...or like 27? Does that mean I wasn't really all that good?

Mosley: Maybe? Maybe it just means you're a late bloomer. Look. We like you a lot. That's why we want to make sure we have all the facts. We want to know how we can best help you succeed.

Ogun: Alright. That makes sense I guess. Let me know what you find out.

Mosley: We'll be in touch. Have a great day Onan.

Ogun: Thanks Mr. Mosley. I appreciate it.

Thanks. I think he is useful now but if he could get a little younger and fill out his potential, he could be really good.

The one time I used it the player was still a bust but he had poor intangibles (Naoki Kurioka). I don’t know if I’ve seen one in years.
