In this edition of Flight Log, a look at the 2057 season for the Charlotte Flyers Short A team, the Adirondack Beavers.

The Beavers finished the 2057 season with a record of 28-48 in 5th place in the Big Islands division of the Angela Drake League, 15.5 games out of 1st place. That was 5 fewer wins than the team had in 2056 and exactly the same record as their 2055 season.

POSITION PLAYER OF THE YEAR:

SSSaleh Omar
Omar was drafted in the 6th round of the 2057 draft and was assigned to Adirondack. He played 74games and was far and away the best player on the team. His 2.8 WAR was more than double the WAR total of any other player on the Beavers this season. He led the team in AVG, OBP, OPS, H, R, 2B, 3B, HR, and RBI. He won the Platinum Stick Award for SS and posted a ZR of 5.

PITCHER OF THE YEAR:

Andres Herrera
Herrera spent most of the season as a follower, making 3 starts in 16 appearances, but finishing with 87 innings pitched. He went 5-6 with a 4.03 ERA. He led the team in Wins and innings pitched. He was also best on the team in BB/9 and K/BB. He set a new personal high for WAR with 1.6 and had a solid FIP- of 82.
