2063 Shark Bites TN No. 2 - life and draft picks

How random is random?

A random number generator isn't random. How about a chance encounter? What about a computer simulated baseball game? How different would things be if the dice were rolled again?

Maybe the clouds overhead would have stayed a little longer instead of briefly breaking up and offering a glimpse at light and a sense of its warmth. But perhaps it never would have rained as it does now that they've returned. And maybe Aniq Anbar would have fallen into my lap.

But he didn't. The dice rolled against me, as it often does.

I don't have an umbrella for this rain. Honestly, I don't have the motivation to obtain one. Quiet acceptance. We make do, just as we did with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2063 GBC draft.

Infielder Rayhan Bin Ubaydah doesn't have the glovework or the gap strength of Anbar, but he is on par with the top pick in bat to ball skills. RBU arrives as the No. 10-ranked prospect in the league. Scouts point to his consistent swing and barrel ability. His lack of natural strength will keep most everything in the yard, but he utilizes the entire field and puts outfielders to work.

The Egyptian does have strong throwing mechanics, however, making him an attractive fit in the hot corner. He just needs more work on some of the finer details of fielding.

Maybe that's what I need, too. More work on the details. Not on fielding. I don't play real baseball.

The sharks are 25-19.
