59.07 Monarchs 2059 Draft

Post by handaspencer » Wed May 29, 2024 2:16 pm

The London Monarchs have agreed on a contract with most of their 2059 draftees. GM Spencer said we are happy with the guys we have brought in this season. We believe we have brought in guys that can compete for jobs within our system and we are excited to get some new talent in London.

Xing-li Kun With the 1st pick of the 2059 draft the Monarchs drafted Xing-Li Kun 12th overall in the draft. The 21 year old is from Shijiazhuang, HEB and is 6'5. According to OSA he is a very sure handed reliable catcher. He is showing promise as a good defender behind the plate and will have the ability to spray the ball around the field. We like the idea of having good defensive catchers in our system.

A few picks later at #16 the Monarchs drafted Yi-Da Chua. The 23 year old is from Singapore. He spent last season in the Chinese Baseball League and he is a good hitter with a good combination of bat speed and barrel control. In 216 plate appearances last season he belted 24 HR.

In the 2nd round 25th overall the Monarchs drafted SS Conrad Millot he has a very strong arm at short and has a great work ethic. We believe he could be a bench guy on the big league club for us one day.

33rd overall the Monarchs drafted LF/DH Isileli Kaikeapona the 16 year old from Koro could develop into a useful bat at some point. The advantage with him is he is young and we might not even now his potenial yet.

The Monarchs finally made the decision to draft a SP and they drafted Gayan Rishi the 22 year old 37th overall has really high curve ball potential. He might be able to find it way into the roster at some point.
