Here are players who all are on their 4th of seven seasons of eligibility:
BBA HOF Voting | Yr 1 | Yr 2 | Yr 3 | Yr 4 | Yr 5 | Yr 6 | Yr 7 |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Mike Campbell | 54.3% | 66.5% | 39.5% | ||||
Ricardo Rivera | 40.0% | 42.5% | 44.7% | ||||
Tiernan O'Macken | 28.6% | 27.5% | 36.8% | ||||
Gary Allen | 0.0% | 7.5% | 5.3% | ||||
Quant Kouros | 11.4% | 10.0% | 7.1% |
Of these players, Kouros and O'Macken are probably the two highest profile in that they received a lot of pixelated ink during their careers. Both are unicorns of sorts, Kouros a fleet-footed Greek, and O'Macken playing Holmes to de'Medici's Sherlock. Or was that vice versa? Whatever. Allen and Campbell played under the radar screen, but were remarkable hitters--the voters rightly (IMO) acknowledging Campell more firmly. Rivera was known, but a bit overshadowed by a few cohorts (as well, as I recall, derailed a bit by injury).
Predictions:
- Allen and Kuoros fall off the ballot.
- Campbell's fall was intense last year, and I expect it to decline. I hope/expect he'll hang on for another ballot, but it's not impossible to see him fall off.
- Rivera and O'Macken have both gained vote totals every season they've been eligible, but not at the rate needed to catch the eye. I suspect both will see support decline. O'Macken has generally been 20% below de'Medici. If that continues, I'm guessing he's in danger of falling off the ballot. Doubtful, but possible. I suspect Rivera will be here for another season at least.
