There hasn't been much to pay attention to lately with the A's. Difficult to watch.
It does seem that there are some monster talents that either came into the league around 95 or were imported in that era.

Re: Marquette/Louisville
Well now I have nearly nothing in terms of contracts signed for next year and especially long term. The real question is going to be how to deal with free agency with the money burning a hole in my pocket. I'll be tempted to splurge but this free agent market might not be that strong and I don't kno...

Get those ballots in, I'm so damn curious haha. It's been very insightful reading everyone's views on the nominees. Feel as though there is a new MBBA chapter in the Bill James Historical Abstract...

Re: Marquette/Louisville
I don't need guys over 30 on big contracts right now is why. Going for a shotgun approach of adding a lot of prospects in hopes of competing in a few years.

Re: Soft trade market?
Thanks for the reply. Looking around I have noticed the same, meaning that I don't have any "wow" players to trade. With the minor league systems of most teams, there simply aren't a glut of prospects to be tossed around on a rental or flawed talent it seems. Still holding out hope I can move some g...

Soft trade market?
I see there are a lot of teams contending this year for the playoffs. The trade blocks seems to have a lot of rebuilding teams shopping players (yes me included) looking for some prospects and not really many winning teams looking to add players. Just wondering if we will see a flurry of activity at...

Re: Why Heath Rockefeller is a Hall of Famer
I think Finch is a no question Hall of Famer based on the amount of career K's. Rockefeller is a good candidate and I can see the arguments on both sides, but my question is why did he retire so early, and apparently suddenly? That could play into the discussion.

Re: My Trade "secrets"...
Thanks. I'm learning and found that I completely underestimated defense as a factor, which helps explain my pitching. I've got a lot more to learn it looks like.

Re: Recte looks at...The Carolina Kraken recent trade histor
Why do I feel that in 2004 (or sooner) Recte may be recapping my rebuilding effort similarly? Really a great read and VERY informative for a team looking to rebuild. It all depends on the trade market and timing too, in my opinion, for each trade.

Re: Aloha 20 - Kuan acquired, Reyes to re-sign?, Hoot mulls
Gotcha. I love having such fan loyalty but try to use it in my posts, indicating that the fans are rabid and heavily involved. This puts pressure on me as a rookie GM. But I'm sure glad to have that loyalty if I'm rebuilding. I've got a lot more guys to ship out. As for Hawaii, with or without a mov...

Re: Louisville Legen 1.04 - Van Winkle Traded, Fire Sale Nex
If we played Hawaii every game, we'd be fine. Kidding. Seriously though, it was a tough call but I gave it a run with the existing roster. Going to have to really rebuild and not dance around it, which is going to be a LONG road but should be a fun challenge. Seems like Hawaii has the same si...
