2063.27 Elkins Season Recap

The Elkins Buzzards finished the season with a record of 35-33, in 4th place in the Cowboy Division, 2.5 games behind the division winner. This was 6 games better than the 2062 season. The Buzzards scored the 6th most runs in the league and allowed the 8th most runs.

POSITION PLAYER OF THE YEAR:

Last year's recipient was Kutsi Abas, who was traded away during the 2063 campaign.

The 2063 winner is C Rodger Jones. This year's 2nd round draft pick slashed .324/.415/.543, with 10 doubles, 12 home runs and 51 RBI. He finished the year with a wRC+ of 134 and 1.7 WAR. Jones threw out 43.6 of attempted base stealers. He also won the 2063 SNL HL Platinum Stick Award at catcher.


PITCHER OF THE YEAR:

Last year's recipient was Kelly Chase, who split time between Adirondack and Danville this year.

The 2063 winner is Randy Cobb. Cobb started 13 games, going 5-3 with a 3.55 ERA. He also had an impressive FIP- of 69 on the year.

League Awards:

Rodger Jones won the 2063 SNL HL Platinum Stick Award at catcher.
Min-ho Chon and Juan Garcia were selected to the Spike Nolan League All-Star Game.
