Galaxy Gas 2063.42 - Return on Investment for 2063
After a one-year hiatus due to half of the roster being traded away in 2062, the Valencia analytics department once again did its end of the year study on salary versus WAR for the 2063 season.
There were many observations made on this year's list. First of all, the top seven players on the +/-list of WAR Worth minus Salary were all rookies. These seven players are all 24 tears of age or younger.
The top three in return of performance versus salary are C Bernd Helwich ($5.55M), 1B Gabriel Bacaloglu ($5.28M) and 3B Jorge Garcia ($5.28M).
The bottom three in return still on the roster are Kinzo Iwamoto (-$10.28M), Tim Bartlett (-$6.48M) and Zenobius Kazantziakis ($-5.9M).
A total of 16 players were on the positive side while 11 players fell into the red side of the ledger. Of the 16 players in the positive, 10 of those players are rookies and three of those players are in their second year.
Of the 11 players on the negative side, 4 will be sent to free agency, 3 will likely be playing in the minors in 2064 and yet three more will be subject to buyouts in the off-season.
While it is easy to have a lot of positive numbers when 16 of your players are on a minimum salary, the Valencia faithful are looking forward to see if any higher priced pieces will be added in this upcoming off-season or if the Valencia brass will wait one more year to reload for real.
Below is the list of the other players that spent the majority of the season with Valencia:
