Reynaldo Serrano
Last season, the left-handed Serrano hit .279/.304/.482 (122 OPS+) with 28 doubles, 8 triples, 14 home runs, and 23 steals in 25 attempts. His fielding at shortstop was largely on-the-job training, as it was the first time that he had played shortstop full time in his professional career. He managed a zone rating of 0.4 by the end of the season. He is now a polished shortstop with excellent range, plus-plus glove and footwork, and an adequate throwing arm; he should have no problem recording a positive zone rating this season. Even with his defense a work in progress, he accrued 3.3 WAR last season in 105 starts. His return will lengthen a lineup that is already formidable.
Serrano was acquired by Montreal in a trade with Vancouver in May of 2061 but tore his ACL after three weeks. He was originally selected out of college by Vancouver in the first round of the 2056 amateur draft.
