2062-16 Rivalry with the Bears

Post by Knucklehead254 » Wed Mar 26, 2025 2:18 pm

It's no secret that every team has it's rivals, it's what make sports fun. So that being said, it's interesting to think about who you're main rival is, and it could go a lot of ways. Portland? Meh, I know Chris is all OldManYellsAtCloud.jpg with Vancouver but little of it has to do with me. Sacramento? Not really a rivalry when keeps kicking my ass. No I'd have to say looking back it makes a lot of sense that it would actually be San Fernando and there GM Kurt. We started roughly near the same time, he started May 22 and I did April 23. So that being said, since 2055 who has had the upper hand? Let's find out.

2055:

Neither of us made the playoffs but I finished with a 84-78 while the Bears went 75-87. I took the season series 10-4.

Aaron 1-0 Kurt

2056:

I got the Mounties to their first playoff appearance in a while with a 91-71 record whilst the Bears regressed a tiny bit and went 72-90. Not much of a competitive rivalry so far I guess (just wait). Season series goes to me 10-7.

Aaron 2-0 Kurt

2057:

Kurt and I's best season in terms of regular season as we both went 95-67 and we even tied the season series 7-7. This led to a Mounties VS Bears series in the Geoghegan round. This also led to another Game 5 heartbreak for me and the Mounties as the Bears took the series 3-2.

Aaron 2-1 Kurt

2058:

A downswing for both of us as I clinched with a 86-76 record whilst Kurt snuck in with an 81-82 record after winning a Game 163 against either Omaha or Valencia (I can't exactly remember what happened that ending was so confusing). Anyways neither of us made it out of the Geoghegan as I lost ANOTHER GAME 5 to Long Beach whilst Kurt went down 3-1 against Twin Cities. I took the season series 10-4. I guess a pity point to me for having the 'better' season.

Aaron 3-1 Kurt

2059:

At the exact time, we both fought for the coveted position of not finishing last in the Pacific in 59. Kurt got the upper-hand with a 67-95 record whilst I finished with a 65-97 record. Kurt also took the season series 8-6.

Aaron 3-2 Kurt

2060:

Both our teams shockingly bounced back and it came down to the last sim to have either Me or Kurt clinch the final wildcard, as we were both tied with 79-79 records. This was also basically going to decide who got GM of the Year in the Frick. Kurt thrashed Portland whilst I choked against Valencia, causing me to finish with an 80-82 record while Kurt got the final spot with an 82-80 record. I did take the series 10-8, but I would've preferred the playoff spot.

Aaron 3-3 Kurt

2061:

This one wasn't even close as my team had the historically awful 4-23 which inevitably lead to a teardown having us finish with a 70-92 record whilst the Bears finished 91-71 to clinch another postseason, though he lost in Game 5 to Bikini. He destroyed us 10-4 in the season series.

Aaron 3-4 Kurt

2062:

And once again we are currently both tied for the final wildcard spot and I pretty much expect Kurt to get it since we just like to keep choking apparently. Kurt has the upper hand in the season series going 7-3 against me so far. We'll see what happens.

I currently lead the regular season series all-time 58-53.

It’s kinda fitting you’re my little brother considering you grew up on that side of the Detroit river across from me ;)
