As the 2062 season keeps progressing with Valencia hanging around below .500, the front office's evaluation for the rest of the season still points to it is time to strip down the team and do a full rebuild.
The names of those departing so far this year include Carlos Schumann to Hawaii, Miller Shed to Twin Cities and Jonathan Bryant to San Antonio.
The fifth player to be identified in the strip search is starting pitcher Juan Garcia. Juan has been a starting pitcher in Valencia with the last three seasons being in the #1 slot. The 28 year-old has compiled a 48-58 record during that time frame with an ERA of 4.42.
Ratings wise, Juan has 60/65 overall/potential rating while is Stuff/Movement/Control is at 5/7/6 with 6 pitches rated 5 or higher. He has an 8 rated Stamina which has allowed him to go past 5 innings in many of his starts.
Juan's salary for this season is a very affordable $3.74M with an expected arbitration of $4.6M for 2063.
The Valencia front office at this point is hoping to get a 65-ish type prospect and/or $$ for Garcia via a trade. The front office may also entertain multiple 55/60-ish type prospects depending on the market/interest around Garcia.
