HOF Talk: Todd Rice

I always admired Todd Rice from afar, and then when I had the chance, I admired him while playing him while I could. He turned down a chance to come play for my team on a cheap deal that last year, though, and in turning that down missed the chance to reach that magical 3,000 hit line.

He probably wouldn’t have made it anyway, but without 3K, I think his chances are zero K.

We’ll find out, though. He was one of those five-tools guys who could really do it all. He wears a ring from his time with Sacramento, and was pretty clutch in the postseason at times. Four-time All-Star. Good teammate. 48 WAR, though. And only a few kind of big years.

#5 all time CF batting average at .322 and #2 all time for doubles by a CF with 714. His defense killed his WAR number but hit 5 out of the 6 HoF metrics for me. I voted yes.
