The Stars after a very slow start have finally put a string of games together and ended going 27-15 the last 6 weeks....Over all the Stars are 53-45 and lead Hawaii and California by 8 games...

Young Starter Tony Suárez has been a huge surprise this season...Suarez broke into the Stars roster last season as a middle relief pitcher.. Suarez ended up 6-2 with a 3.68 in 71 innings pitched...The Stars this season put him in as the 4th starter and he has done fantastic.. In 20 starts this year, Suarez is 12-5 with a 3.33 ERA and in 140 innings has 129 K's and almost a 4.0 WAR,,,not bad for his first full season as a starter....

1B Gary Knowles is in his second full season with the Stars..Last year he hit .283 5 31 in 106 games..The Stars this season gave Knowles the starting 1B job and the youngster has really come through...Knowles is hitting .289 12 homers and has 41 RBIS in 83 games...That projects to be .289 20 homers by the end of the season...So hopefully Knowles can continue his hitting throughout the next 70 plus games...
