The Stars ended May looking better going 27-27 which was the goal playing .500 ball this season...Well June gloom has hit the Stars hard. So far half way though June the Stars are 5-13..Both the offence and pitching has suffered the last two weeks...
The Stars need to have the rest of June winning more than losing..
The good news is rookie outfielder Edgar León won
the Johnson League Rookie of the Month honoree. In May the Valencia hitter tagged opposing pitching for a .323 average with 30 hits, no home runs and 4 RBIs. June started and Leon the left fielder will miss 6 weeks with a hamstring strain. Crazy few weeks for Leon..Leon was the Stars leadoff hitter and was hitting .286 and 16 stolen bases...
SP Juan Martínez is one of the most unlucky SP this season..His number look pretty good, 84 innings, 66 hits allowed, 61 K's and 31 walks...he also has a 1.15 WHIP...Sounds good until you see his record, 1-8.. Juan Martinez just cant get a break when he pitches...Last season Martinez got his shot starting for the Stars and went 11-6 4.37 ERA...Martinez is hoping for more run support when he pitches next...

Martinez hasn't gotten more than 2 runs of support in all of his losses.

I'm hoping that "Marines" is the result of a swype error.RonCo wrote:Marines is better than 1-8...I think.
